The 6th annual ARC Winter Adventure Race will again take place at Hardwood Hills, which is only 45 minutes north of Toronto, Ontario. The race takes place on March 12th, a perfect time of the year for winter outdoor fun, when there is lots of snow, milder temperatures and usually sunny days. Last year's race was extremely well received by all the teams and solo racers, and this year's race will be even more 'user friendly' and accessible for participants and spectators. Racers can participate in any of the following categories:
Teams of Three must complete all three race disciplines together. Solo racers must complete all three race disciplines by themselves. Racers are required to have the appropriate gear for each race, but for those who require cross country ski or snowshoe rentals, ARC will arrange your rentals in each race location. See Winter Gear List for the required race equipment. Where and if required, ARC will transport participant's gear (ie. bikes, skis etc.) to the appropriate locations on the course, so you won't need a support crew. Participants will require a limited amount of navigation skill, but we provide a map, instructions and course markings so that no one will get lost! And the race should only take racers between 4 and 6 hours to complete. You can also join our pre-race clinic to get a few tips from our course designer.
