Though
adventure racing is all about picking the right, quickest
route there are times when races need to be directed and that
is what course marshals do. Depending up on the course and
location, we may not want teams to go a certain direction
or we may want them to take a specific route/trail; course
marshals are among the few people who get to tell racers where
to go.
