Checkpoints Volunteers
Check
Points are spread throughout the course, and teams must visit
each check point to have their passport signed and timed.Volunteers
are responsible for meeting and greeting the teams as they
arrive, recording the appropriate information to keep track
of them and providing any required information before they
leave.
Most
check points can be reached
by vehicle, or by biking or hiking to them. If you are interested
in biking or hiking to a Check Point, please bring the appropriate
gear, and inform our office as the number of these locations
varies with every race.
Some of the Check Points are night ones, which means that
some teams may arrive after dark, or none of the teams will
arrive until well into the night. These are the Check Points
that volunteers are asked to pitch their tent and camp for
the night. In some cases, you can stay near your vehicle,
or you may have to hike to the Check Point If you are interested
in camping out at a Check Point please bring the appropriate
gear (to potential hike in or car camp) and contact our office
as the number of these camping locations varies with every
race.
