Adventure Race Series
Rules
and Regulations
- All
team members must sign-in prior to the start of the race during
the designated check-in times on the evening before the race day
and/or on the morning of the race as well as have their gear
checked and approved prior to the start of the race.
- All
participants must sign the appropriate race waivers as provided
by ARC at the time of check-in. Any participants who are under
18 years of age must have guardian present when signing these
waivers.
- All
teams must compete with a "team name", however ARC
reserves the right to have a team change it's name should it not
be appropriate and/or in conflict with any other Teams' names or
any event sponsors.
- All
participants must wear the race number/bib as provided by ARC
over/on their clothing at all times during the race with the
number and sponsor name(s) visible.
- All
participants and teams must race with the mandatory individual
and team equipment that has been approved at the gear check.
- All
participant bike plate numbers must also be affixed to
participant bikes at the time of the gear check and at all times
during the race.· Access to the race course and transition
areas are restricted to racers with race passes and/or race
bibs.
- The
use of any prohibited equipment will result in team
disqualification. Any equipment required for "special
tests" and/or water transport will be provided.· At the
pre-race meeting all teams will be provided with race details,
directions and maps approximately one hour prior to the race
start time. Each team captain must be present at this meeting.
- All
teams must travel together at all times during the race and
cannot be separated by more then 100m. All teams must start,
travel and finish the race together. (failure to do so may
result in penalties or disqualification).
- "Special
Tests" may be placed at any point along the course including
the transition area. It may be necessary to wait for other teams to
complete the tests, so this should be factored into your race
strategy
- All
teams will travel with a race "Passport". This
passport must be time stamped at all checkpoints and special
test areas in order for the team to have an official finish,
unless otherwise instructed.
- If
one team member cannot continue the race for any reason then the
other two or three team members must stay with that person until an
ARC staff member is present and/or informed. At this point the team
is disqualified but they may elect to continue the race and finish
as an unranked team.
- Any
contact and/or assistance to a team competing in an Urban or Enduro
race by support staff, friends, family, spectators or ARC staff will
result in disqualification from the race. Assistance by other teams
is acceptable.
- For Overnight
races, a support team of two are allowed at designated transition
locations and/or ARC can supply limited support to teams
without crews.
- For
safety reasons there will be cut-off times for teams to reach each
checkpoint and finish the entire race. If teams do not meet these
cut-off times they may be asked to withdraw and return to the Home
Base.
- No
food will be provided on the course. There will only be one water
station.
- Race
results for the top finishers will be announced after the race
during the awards ceremony and complete detailed list will be posted
on the Results page at www.adventureracingcanada.com after the race.
- All
race rules and regulation are subject to change, and any decisions
made by ARC management are final.
