Notice
to Mud Run 10K Participants - 2009
We would
like to sincerely apologize to everyone who participated in the
10K Mud Run on June 7, 2009.
As many
of you are aware, most of you were directed on the wrong route just
after the start of the run, and therefore you missed approximately
4K of the first 5K loop; while some of you got turned back after
the mistake at the start, and ran the first 5K and second 5K loop
as was planned.
For those
who continued onto the second 5K loop right after the start, our
only option was to re-route you again and try to add back as much
of the distance that you missed in the first 5K loop. By doing this
we sent you back onto the first 5K loop which brought you through
the tires and straw bales a second time. If you finished the run
at this point you had run about 8.5K….however, a few of you
got past us at this point, and we believe that you did the second
5K loop again, so you may have run about 12-13K.
We have
been working with our timing company to try to determine who ran
the various distances, and how to rank everyone given the confusion
with the course routing and different distances that were run in
the 10K. After must internal discussion and feedback from runners,
it is clear to us that we cannot accurately rank the results for
the 10K Solo and Team runners.
For many
of the runners, the Mud Run is a 'fun' trail run which is as much
about running on the trails, through rivers, over the obstacles
and finishing in the mud pit, as it is about your finish time……but
for a large number of the runners in the 10K you were expecting
to have an accurate distance, finish time and ranking for your distance,
and at this point we can only provide you with your finish time
but not your accurate distance or ranking. (For finish times, please

Whether
you ran for fun, ran for ranking, or both - we once again sincerely
apologize for this very unfortunate routing situation and we would
like to offer you a half price entry for next year's 10K Mud Run
on June 6th, 2010. We would ask that you contact us directly, before
the end of the year, at info@adventureracingcanada.com to make arrangements
for your half price entry for next year's 10K run.
Thank you
very much for your support and understanding, and we hope to see
you again at the Mud Run.
