ARC Adventure Race Series

Enduro Gear Information

Teams and participants are required to have the mandatory race gear with them at all times during the race, for personal and team safety. Teams and participants may be checked throughout the race, for some or all of this gear. Teams will be penalized accordingly and/or disqualified from the race if they do not have some or all of the individual and team mandatory race equipment.

Prior to each race, all team members will be required to sign a form that acknowledges that they have and will carry all the required race gear during the race.

Mandatory Gear - supplied by ARC

  1. Race number jersey
  2. Canoe, Paddles & throw rope - Participants will be allowed to carry their own paddles, but may be required to carry them for some or all of the race

Personal Mandatory Gear - per racer (must carry at all times)

  1. Whistle
  2. Knife with min. 2" locking blade
  3. One (1) litre water capacity
  4. Lighter & Matches

Personal Activity Specific Mandatory Gear - per racer

  1. Mountain Bike
  2. Bike Helmet
  3. Spare tire tube - minimum of 3 per team
  4. Lifejacket (Coast Guard approved)

Team Mandatory Gear (activity specific)

  1. Tire Levers
  2. Allen Key set
  3. Tire Pump (should work for all tire fittings)
  4. Bike Chain repair tool

Mandatory Team Gear

  1. Waterproof Map Bag (double bagging recommended)
  2. Pen and/or pencil
  3. Compass (two recommended)
  4. Survival Mirror
  5. Sunscreen & Bug Spray
  6. First Aid Kit*

Mandatory Team First Aid Equipment

* Emergency Blanket, Tensor Bandage, Closure Bandages (butterfly), Adhesive Tape, Antibiotic Ointment, Gauze Roll, Tweezers/Scissors, Antibiotic Ointment, Antihistamine Tablets, Anti-Inflammatory Tablets

The following equipment is prohibited from use prior to and during the race:

  1. Any GPS device
  2. Cell phones, Pagers, Pace meters Walkie Talkies, Radios or any electronic device
  3. Any mode of transportation not authorized by the race event organizers
  4. Any maps other then those provided by the race event organizers

Note: This list is not an exhaustive list and ARC reserves the right to disallow the use of any item or equipment that might prove an unfair advantage to any team and/or disqualify any teams that use illegal equipment during the race
