Open to competitors of all ages and abilities, the Beaver River
Paddling Race will take place along the picturesque Beaver River.
Home to countless bird species, including The Great Blue Heron
and The Great Horned Owl, the Beaver River valley also boasts
populations of speckled trout and white tailed deer, not to mention
its namesake, the beaver. Needless to say, wildlife sightings
are practically guaranteed. Once used as a transportation route
in the 19th century, the river is now a classic canoe route in
the region.
This spectator friendly event will have competitors travel both
up and downstream passing the start/finish area multiple times,
allowing for ample viewing opportunities.
Participants will race in an 8km distance, as a solo in a kayak
or as teams of two in canoes.
The race will recognize the top three finishers in the male and
female solo category, as well as the all-male, all-female, coed,
and parent-child team canoe categories.
Bring your own boat, or we can provide canoe/kayak/paddles at
an additional cost.
